Abstract: A 10 page research paper that investigates the anatomy and physiology of carotid artery disease. The literature review examines briefly the physiology of this disease, and also discusses not only the most prominent surgical procedures used as interventions in the treatment of this disease, but also various factors that contribute to its progression.
