Competition Among Casinos

Abstract: An 8 page paper discussing competition in the gaming industry and the effects of government regulation. Government regulation does play a significant role in casino operation, but that regulation is less restrictive in the gaming industry than in most others in which the government involves itself. The local economic benefits are strong enough that local governments cannot afford to be too oppressive. Las Vegas, without any personal or corporate income taxes, still is the nation's fastest-growing city. Bibliography lists 9 sources.
