Abstract: A twelve page paper which looks at the way in which the Christian bible has been interpreted by different theoreticians in terms of the importance of faith and works in terms of redemption and salvation. The paper considers the Old Testament background to the development and codification of the Law, and looks at whether the Pauline gospels contradict other parts of the New Testament in their definition of works which arise from the pre-existence of personal faith.
