Abstract: A 5 page paper arguing against the practice of marketing individual college athletes either to professional sports organizations or to local fans in the interest of greater sales of licensed products. Though some believe that collegiate players should be paid, most others still believe that amateur status as defined as the NCAA should be rigidly defended and observed.
