Use of Shame in 2 African Novels

Abstract: A 10 page research paper that examines Chinua Achebe's Things Fall Apart and V.Y. Mudimbe's Between Tides. The writer argues that in each book the emotion of shame plays an intrinsic role in the way that these African authors dramatize the dichotomies inherent in the legacy of European colonialism and its effects of African culture. Bibliography lists 4 sources.
