Mozart's Gran Partita

Abstract: Music is known to elicit an emotional response in most people (and beasts), so that a close look at the music of a given culture may provide insight into the values that were of sufficient importance to engage an emotional reaction. This 5 page paper asserts that Mozart's serenade, the Gran Partita in Bb, set the standard for the wind bands of the era. It also defined the use of allegro sonata for wind instruments, particularly the oboe and clarinet. Bibliography lists 6 sources.
