Abstract: A 6 page research paper that examines the theoretical contribution of Emile Dirkheim to the science of sociology. Durkheim (1858-1917) was one of the founders of the science of modern sociology. His distinguished career helped to establish sociology as a respected scientific discipline, capable of diagnosing the ills of society and recommending possible courses of action to cure these problems.
