A Look at Welfare Reform

Abstract: This is an 11 page paper that examines the Personal Responsibility and Work Opportunity Reconciliation Act of 1996 on a national level and the New Jersey Welfare Reform Act of 1992. These acts of legislation limit the time an individual may receive assistance and impose regulations that require participation in job seeking activities. A proposal for a program to assist individuals on transportation issues is presented. Bibliography lists 8 sources.
