Adam Hochschild/King Leopold's Ghost

Abstract: A 5 page essay that summarizes the principal points from Hochschild's book King Leopold's Ghost, which chronicles the atrocities implemented by the Belgium monarch against the Congolese people. In the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, King Leopold II of Belgium carved out a personal kingdom in the African Congo and built an enormous personal fortune, which cost, at least, 10 million African lives.
