Abstract: A 6 page essay that compares and contrasts the works of Walter Whitman and Alfred Tennyson focusing particularly on 'Songs of Myself' and 'The Lady of Shallot.' Also discussed are the reviews at the time, i.e., 1855, in contrast to the modern reviews of these two great poets' works. Bibliography lists 6 sources.
