Abstract: A 5 page paper discussing two views of the poem by T.S. Eliot, those of Elisabeth Schneider and Michael L. Baumann. Schneider's position is that Eliot himself is Prufrock; Baumann's is also, but with the focus of there being nothing of purpose in the life of a male aside from sex and death. If copulation has occurred even once, then there is nothing left but death. The paper supports Scneider's position and opposes Baumann's. No additional sources cited.
