Participatory development as an alternative development model is one of the most effective programs in influencing Third World development and even in the use of various forms of public action. Learning to manage resources sustainably on the local level is essential for achieving the global goal of sustainable development. Participatory development with emphasis on those areas where local people are vigorous participators definitely affects their success in the determination of their own future.
