Political and Economic Freedom

Abstract: A 7 page paper presenting some of the views of Thomas Jefferson, Alexander Hamilton, Alexis de Tocqueville, Henry David Thoreau and Benjamin Franklin regarding the interconnection of personal virtue, political freedom and economic freedom. The conclusion from the readings is that political and economic freedom go hand in hand, and that personal virtue provides the necessary degree of accountability. Bibliography lists 7 sources.
