Gene Therapy Research Proposal

Abstract: A 3 page paper presenting a research proposal with the purpose of evaluating methods of introducing germline - i.e., inheritable - genes in human subjects. The intended approach will be to replicate specific methods gained from the literature, evaluating each for their adaptability to universal application. The American Association. for the Advancement of Science recommends that ethical issues be resolved first, but it also notes that current methods are inefficient. Universally applicable methods need to be available before the ethical questions are resolved. Much of the funding for research has been from the private sector, pharmaceutical companies looking toward the profit that is certain to be substantial. Bibliography lists 8 sources.
