Romanticism / The Dark Eye of Beauty

Abstract: A 10 page analysis of three paintings-Goya's 'Saturn devouring his son,' Delacroix's 'Death of Sardanapalus,' and Fuseli's 'The Nightmare.' The writer examines how each of these paintings fits a definition of Romanticism written in an essay by Burke in 1755 while also discussing the contributions that each artist made to the Romantic movement.
