Abstract: A 10 page paper describing the nation of Oman in terms of the five themes of geography: location, place, regions, movement and interaction. Oman is located at the entrance to the Persian Gulf and so is witness to the vast numbers of ships passing into and out of the Gulf. Sultan bin Said opened the nation to the world in 1970 and began a program of modernization; Oman's location aids in progress to the Sultan's goal for his country.
