Increased Ticket Pricing of Basketball

Abstract: This 5 page report discusses the fact that professional basketball ticket prices have skyrocketed in the past few years. The average fan cannot afford a ticket, much less a ticket for a good seat. One has to wonder what sort of impact the lack of affordability and the elitism that has evolved around basketball will ultimately have in terms of game attendance, present behavior of spectators, and the future behavior of fans. A number of factors have combined to cause such a situation and team owners and management must develop a number of creative ways of responding to the situation if they are to continue to maintain a full house of fans on game nights.
