Sir Francis Drake, Innovative Thinker

Abstract: A 9 page paper discussing the explorer and privateer's ability to look at things from perspectives that others had not yet seen. The business buzzword of the 1990s and into the new century has been that of innovation, but Sir Francis gives us insight into the usefulness of innovation during the late 16th century. Preceding the pirates, Sir Francis was one of the world's first privateers, and certainly one of the first to use modern methods of warfare. Whenever possible, he allowed his enemy to complete the bulk of the difficult work for him. Bibliography lists 9 sources.
