The Representation of Otherness In The Film Industry

Abstract: This 8 page paper looks at how 'otherness' is represented in British films during the 1980's and 1990's. Firstly the paper considers the role of otherness, what it means and how it can be interpreted, secondly three British films are examined to demonstrate its different presentation and portray in film. The films examined are 'My Beautiful Laundrette', 'Blood' and 'Cold Fish'. The bibliography cites 7 sources.
