Self-Interest in Politics

Abstract: An 8 page paper which discusses how all human beings are prone to involve themselves in life looking out for their own interests. Self-interest, from this perspective, seems almost inherent, and thus is clearly related to politics, where self-interest is very much a part of any policy. In discussing the self-interest of mankind and of politics, the paper discusses some of the ideas of Locke, Hobbes, and Machiavelli. The paper also discusses some international policies, further supporting the notion that human beings are concerned with self-interest, even on a large scale. Bibliography lists 5 sources.
