Kozol's Amazing Grace

Abstract: Poverty Culture: In Amazing Grace (1995), Jonathan Kozol writes concerning the lives of people - the people of the South Bronx and how they live as renegades to a society that considers them 'unclean'. This 5 page paper argues that the isolation that results within a community from being locked behind their own defenses is a form of segregation that can only encourage violence, desperation and a continuance of the cycle of poverty.
