Film Analysis - The Use Of Geography In 'Braveheart'

Abstract: A 5 page paper discussing the physical setting of the Mel Gibson movie. The story of Braveheart spans several years in its full telling, but the primary focus of the movie, William Wallace leading his people against England in defense of their homeland, occurred in 1297. Braveheart brought notoriety and tourism to Stirling, and revived the history surrounding Wallace's struggle against the English and his unifying influence among the clans of Scotland. The highlighting and use of the landscape was a contributing factor in the film's success. Bibliography lists 3 sources.
