Film, Criticism & Genre / 'Scream'

Abstract: This 9 page paper begins with an explanation on different types of media criticism, most notably the auteurist, journalist and scholarly formats. More than half of the paper focuses on the movie Scream, and analyzes it in terms of its conformity to the horror film genre. Elements of the film are discussed. This paper is a useful tool for anyone interested in obtaining a historical overview of criticism as well as a substantial analysis on a modern film. Bibliography lists 8 sources.
