Abstract: A 10 page paper discussing the cinemagraphic innovations used in the making of Welles' debut film. Near sixty years since its initial release, Citizen Kane has reconfirmed its place as one of cinema's classics and has been reviewed and discussed extensively. Whether as a result of this fascination or despite it, Citizen Kane remains a lesson by example in highly effective technique and reflects Welles' genius in perfecting methods of portrayal that have become institutionalized so many years after the release of the film.
