Abstract: A 5 page research paper that relies on the text The Earth and Its Peoples by Bulliet, et al (1997) to discuss three areas of history. The first section of the paper concerns the "rise of the West," the next section relates European expansionism to the Atlantic slave trade, and the final section contrasts the revolutions in Latin America to the American Revolution.
