The discord that has historically existed between Arabs and Africans has bled over into the relationship that currently exists between Arab-Americans and African-Americans. The writer discusses that what has remained at the heart of this perpetual friction is the questionable religious affiliation between the two groups, with African-Americans being openly chastised for embracing Islam as their chosen faith when they are not Arabs or descendants of Arabia.
