Euthanasia from an Ethical Perspective

Abstract: A 5 page paper discussing the issue of the ethics of euthanasia within a nursing context. The paper presents philosophical argument, but one author notes that those nurses unable to come to terms with agreed-on procedures should disqualify themselves from cases employing those procedures. Whereas the physician of record has the privilege of and ability to either accept or reject such cases, nurses normally do not. In the end, nurses need to assess their own motivations and convictions as well, and act in accordance with those. They can cite Kant for support. Bibliography lists 6 sources.
