Pip of "Great Expectations"

Abstract: 5 pages. The portrayal of society in Charles Dickens' "Great Expectations" is that of a symbol of contemporary British civilization. While it is Miss Havisham representing the epitome of such, it is Pip who is by far the main character representing not only society but also the maturation of societal and personal norms. This paper gives an excellent overview of the main character of the book and the impediments he must overcome in reaching his true maturity in life. Bibliography lists one source.
