Changing Definitions and Concepts of Family

Abstract: A 5 page discussion of the concept of family. Provides sociological definitions and views of the concept of family. Emphasizes that the traditional concept of family, the concept of a father a mother and one or more children comprising a family unit, has been turned on end in recent years. Questions the relationship of the members of a same-sex "marriage" as well as other contemporary familial relationships to illustrate the point that the family unit is no longer defined as it was in times past.
