Abstract: A 6 page paper which considers whether there is life after death, through the perspective of philosophers Max Scheler, and his definition of the human spirit; Professor C.J. Ducasse's arguments against the assumption that we do not survive death; and Martin Heidegger's belief in the chief characteristic of human beings which makes us distinctive in the cosmos to evaluate what can be determined from Heidegger's analysis regarding his attitudes toward life and death.
