Abstract: A 14 page paper which discusses the use of the Chicago Tribune or the New York Times as a sole provider of information regarding the world. The paper presents both sides to three separate stories. The stories concern the Microsoft merger, the military activity in Chechen, and the recent concerns involving Pinochet. All three stories are taken from January 12, 2000 editions of the newspapers. In addition to the newspapers themselves, the paper incorporates the works "Spin Cycle" by Howard Kurtz and "Is Anyone Responsible" by Shanto Iyengar, which address the concerns of informing the public through the media and through publications.
