Gun Control, Freud And Hobbes

Abstract: The debate over the right to bear arms and the need in American society to control guns and violence has reached an apogee since the incident at Littleton, Colorado, High School. This 5 page paper argues that Sigmund Freud would say that the death instinct has become out of balance with the life instinct. Thomas Hobbes would maintain that the government has a right to control the actions of its citizens. Bibliography lists 3 sources.
